Cu acest volum dedicat Elisabetei Bogățan—poetă, traducătoare, critic literar și ziaristă—începem, la Contemporary Literature Press, o serie a masteranzilor MTTLC care debutează ca traducători literari și autori de recenzii de întâmpinare.
              În volumul de față, Valentina Mihai traduce poeme, două texte de critică literară și un interviu pe care tot traducătoarea îl ia Elisabetei Bogățan.
              Urmărim ca, prin aceste volume, să stabilim o legătură foarte necesară între MTTLC–iști, scriitorii români contemporani și un mare număr de poeți englezi, care stilizează textele traduse în limba engleză.
              Am fost permanent sprijinți de Uniunea Scriitorilor, de Institutul Cultural Român, de Muzeul Național al Literaturii Române [care a și acordat Premiul APLER editurii noastre—Asociația Publicațiilor Literare și Editurilor din România], de British Council. Mulțumirile noastre se îndreaptă, în primul rând, către Universitatea din București, sprijinul nostru constant și Alma Mater pentru noi toți.
              Din clipa în care am înființat Masteratul pentru Traducerea Textului Literar Contemporan și editura Contemporary Literature Press, am avut în minte această rețea de traducere literară și de promovare a scriitorilor contemporani, români, dar și englezi. Încă de la început, am colaborat cu agenta literară și poeta Anne Stewart și cei peste 400 de poeți de care se ocupă. Am făcut masterclass–uri împreună, am tradus multe cărți din limba română sau din limba engleză.
              Pentru că se apropie Crăciunul, ne–am grăbit să facem o bucurie Valentinei Mihai, care a alcătuit acest volum, dar și autoarei alese de ea, Elisabeta Bogățan. Volumul va ieși pe porțile CLP către toți abonații noștri, din România și din întreaga lume anglofonă, împreună cu cele mai bune urări ale noastre pentru anul care vine.

              With this volume, dedicated to the poet, translator, literary critic and journalist Elisabeta Bogățan, Contemporary Literature Press begins a series of books of literary translation and criticism, dedicated to graduates of the MA Programme for the Translation of the Contemporary Literary Texts.
              In this book, Valentina Mihai translates into English poems and literary criticism by Elisabeta Bogățan, as well as an interview with the poet.
              These books are aimed at forming a necessary network that includes students, contemporary Romanian and English writers. The English poets whom we translate and publish are also very necessary advisors for those who translate Romanian writers into English.
              We have always had the support of the Writers' Union of Romania, the Romanian Cultural Institute, the National Museum of Romanian Literature [who even granted our publishing house the APLER Prize [the Association of Literary Publications and Publishing Houses in Romania], the British Council. Last but not least, we are deeply grateful to the University of Bucharest—my own and my students' Alma Mater.
              When I founded MTTLC and Contemporary Literature Press, I meant to promote both Romanian and English contemporary writers. The beginning was made with the help of the poet and literary agent Anne Stewart and the 400 poets that she has gathered around her. I organised masterclasses. With the help of Anne's poets, who revised the students' translations into English, we have translated many books, both into English and into Romanian.
              Since Christmas is almost here, I hope that this book will bring joy both to Valentina, our former graduate, and to Elisabeta Bogățan, the author Valentina chose to translate. This book will be published online by Contemporary Literature Press, and it will hopefully reach Romanian readers, as well as anglophone readers all over the world—together with our best wishes for the coming year.
